JIM HATFIELD - The Lone Wolf
Bedingt durch den Erfolg der Pulp-Helden „The Shadow“ (1931-1949). „Doc Savage“ (1933-1949) und „The Spider” (1933-1943), startete Thrilling Publications - nach ihrem Helden „The Phantom Detective“ (1933-1953) - am 13. August 1936 das Western-Pulp-Magazin „Texas Rangers“, in dem der Texas Ranger Jim Hatfield, auch „The Lone Wolf“ genannt, sein Debüt gab.

Bis zur Einstellung des Pulp-Magazins „Texas Rangers“ erschienen 206 Ausgaben mit den Abenteuern des Pulp-Helden Jim Hatfield.
Damit war der Texas Ranger nach „The Shadow“ - mit dem im „The Shadow Magazine“ bis zum Jahr 1949 insgesamt 325 Ausgaben erschienen - der zweiterfolgreichste Held der Pulp-Ära in den USA.
